Mather Jamie, a specialist land development and property consultancy, successfully negotiated the sale of land on Cossington Lane in Rothley for a new affordable housing scheme. The land, which already had Outline Planning Permission for 40 dwellings, was purchased by housing provider Longhurst Group, known for managing over 24,000 homes in the Midlands and East of England.
“We’re committed to providing the homes people want, where they’re needed most,” stated Marcus Keys, Executive Director of Growth, Development and Assets at Longhurst Group. The partnership with MyPad, an established residential developer, will see construction begin in July 2025, with units ready for occupancy by January 2026.
John Turner, Land and Partnerships Director at MyPad, expressed excitement for the project and thanked all parties involved in the negotiations. The focus now is on extending their positive engagement with Charnwood Borough Council to ensure the development meets the specific affordable housing needs of the local community.
