A collaborative event was hosted at Castle Meadow Campus by G F Tomlinson and Henry Brothers Construction, providing Fbe and ProCon members and guests with an exclusive look at the new University of Nottingham city centre redevelopment site.
The event showcased the ongoing transformation of the Grade II Listed site, with current works including the refurbishment of the former HMRC headquarters by G F Tomlinson and the remodelling of Buildings D and F by Henry Brothers into modern office spaces.
With a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, the complete redevelopment of the seven-building Castle Meadow Campus aims to create a vibrant hub for students, academics, and industry partners, offering state-of-the-art facilities.
Attendees, including 60 members from Fbe East Midlands and ProCon Nottinghamshire, were treated to insightful presentations, networking opportunities, and firsthand experiences of the redevelopment works. Representatives from University of Nottingham, Arup, and Bond Bryan provided detailed site plans during the event.
Visitors were given guided tours by G F Tomlinson and Henry Brothers, providing a unique insight into the intricate renovation processes. A highlight was the demonstration of the large-scale Projection Augmented Relief Model (PARM) by Dr. Gary Priestnall from the University’s School of Geography.
The event also featured ‘City as Lab’ led by Director Prof. Paul Grainge, emphasizing the role of digital innovation in addressing real-world challenges in the Nottingham city region.
Adrian Grocock, Managing Director of G F Tomlinson, expressed pride in contributing to the landmark project, while Ian Taylor, Managing Director of Henry Brothers Construction, highlighted the excitement of being part of the transformative project.
James Hale, Building and Design Lead for Castle Meadow Campus, University of Nottingham, expressed determination to create a sustainable and world-class campus environment. The event showcased the progress made in transforming the historical site, with plans for further enhancements underway.
