The Kexgill Group, a leading provider of student accommodation in the UK, has successfully refinanced through Aldermore Bank. This significant transaction involved the refinancing of seven residential properties recently acquired by Kexgill as part of its strategic growth plan centered around the University of Hull campus.
Led by partners Kirsty Barsby and Matthew Smith, the multi-disciplinary legal team at Andrew Jackson Solicitors provided expert legal advice to Kexgill throughout the process. Kexgill, based in Hull, is known for its award-winning student accommodation services and has a proven track record of reinvesting in its expanding portfolio. MD Richard Stott emphasized the complexity of this transaction, highlighting the need to adjust existing covenants to accommodate further ownership around the University campus. The purchase will allow for development and branding of the unique area, where over 95% of properties are owned by Kexgill.
Helen Mellors, a partner at Andrew Jackson Solicitors, expressed delight in advising Kexgill on this latest transaction, reaffirming the firm’s longstanding relationship with the company. She emphasized Kexgill’s commitment to providing affordable student accommodation.
