Canva, the collaborative design platform, has purchased three office spaces in London to strengthen its presence in Europe. The expansion comes after Cameron Adams, co-founder and chief product officer, delivered a keynote at London Tech Week where he discussed how AI is accelerating the path to creative mastery in the workplace. Canva’s positive growth saw the platform reach 185 million monthly active users and $2.2 billion in revenue globally. The three properties acquired around Hoxton Square, including the current European HQ at 33 Hoxton Square, will accommodate over 200 employees.
The acquisition is a vote of confidence in London’s creative and tech expertise, with Canva having expanded its UK staff base by over 100% in the past 12 months. It follows the recent purchase of UK-founded design platform Affinity. Duncan Clark, head of Europe at Canva, said that following the growth of their team and community since opening their European campus in London last year, they were “excited to expand our presence here by adding two new spaces to our Hoxton base.”
Canva’s goal is to create a collaborative campus, bringing together their regional teams and user communities, enabling further growth as they increase their efforts to empower everyone, in every organisation to design. Canva is currently used by over 90% of the Fortune 500.
