Bottle & Thyme, an award-winning independent bar and restaurant in Chesterfield, has recently relocated to Elder Way, creating six new jobs and extending their operating hours to seven days a week.
After agreeing to a 10-year lease on a 3,153 sq ft unit with Jomast in June, the establishment has undergone a complete transformation, both in terms of its frontage and interior. The move to Elder Way has significantly increased the size of the business, allowing owners Gavin and Hannah Grainger to expand their offerings.
The flagship corner unit of the former Co-op department store has been transformed into a restaurant, private function room, and bar, with additional outdoor space for dining and drinking. The business owners expressed their excitement about the successful move, with The Glass Room, the new function area, already fully booked throughout September.
Mark Hill, Commercial Property Director at Jomast, highlighted the positive impact of Bottle & Thyme’s presence at Elder Way, contributing to the development of a new leisure and hospitality quarter in Chesterfield. The collaboration with neighboring tenants Premier Inn and Hotpod Yoga is part of a larger vision for the iconic building.
Looking ahead, Gavin and Hannah plan to further enhance Chesterfield’s food and drink scene by transforming their former location on Knifesmithgate into a charcuterie, cheese, and wine bar named Elder, set to open later this year. The business is set to continue thriving in its new environment and offer unique dining experiences to the local community.
