Grants ranging from £5,000 to £50,000 are currently up for grabs for rural businesses in North Northamptonshire. Thanks to funding from the Rural England Prosperity Fund, the North Northamptonshire Council has relaunched a grant scheme to assist existing rural businesses. Applications are now being accepted for projects that can commence quickly and be completed by 28 February 2025. This round of grants specifically targets rural diversification, including business diversification and initiatives that support the visitor economy.
“In previous rounds of the grant schemes, various projects have been supported, such as extending a café and farm shop at New Lodge Farm in Bulwick, moving to a larger facility at Austin Davis Biologics in Islip, creating a new dog field at Measures Farm in Hemington, and investing in tourist accommodation at Wallis Mill, Brigstock,” remarked Cllr David Howes, Executive Member for Rural Communities and Localism.
To make a significant impact on rural businesses in North Northants, grants of up to £50,000 are being offered. Interested businesses have until 26 July to apply. “With the success seen from previous rounds of the grant scheme, the prospects for businesses in North Northants are promising,” stated Cllr David Brackenbury, Executive Member for Growth and Regeneration. Leader of the Council, Jason Smithers, added, “The previous rounds have catalyzed growth and diversification for various rural businesses. With this fourth round, we anticipate even more businesses benefitting.”
The deadline for applications for this round is 26 July 2024. To apply for funding in Round 4, rural businesses should email ukspf@northnorthants.gov.uk for an application form, eligibility criteria, and guidance notes.
