On-demand laundry and dry-cleaning platform, Laundryheap, has expanded its reach by acquiring Latin America market leader GetLavado. This move is part of Laundryheap’s plan to broaden its services globally, which started with its acquisition of Lavoir Moderne and Wast in France, Oxwash in the UK, and Laundrapp in April 2022. With this acquisition, Laundryheap is now operating in 14 international markets, including the UK, US, Europe, Asia, the UAE, and Latin America. The company plans to hire more staff in the region in the coming months to expand its presence further.
Laundryheap provides a range of services to B2C customers, including 24-hour turnaround door-to-door services for laundry and dry cleaning. It also caters to B2B partners across several industries, including hospitality, tourism, and services, such as Accor, Novotel & Ibis, Rituals, Chanel, Altido, UnderTheDoormat, Emirates & Qatar Airways.
With the acquisition, GetLavado staff will join the Laundryheap team, and its customers will have access to Laundryheap’s platform. Customers in Lima, Peru, can already place their orders via Laundryheap’s award-winning app and website, replacing GetLavado’s WhatsApp-based booking system. Laundryheap plans to expand further into cities in Colombia and Mexico later this year.
Deyan Dimitrov, CEO and founder of Laundryheap, expressed his excitement about the expansion into Latin America and provided his commitment to build on GetLavado’s success. Martin Beas Núñez, GetLavado’s founder, is delighted about the acquisition, seeing it as a realization of his vision, and aims to offer world-class services across the continent. Laundryheap has raised £11.5m in funding to date and currently employs 135 people.
