Mike Lynch, a UK tech tycoon, who was cleared of criminal charges in the United States, expressed his fear of dying while in jail in the country.

Mike Lynch, a British tech tycoon, expresses relief after the United States Court acquitted him and a fellow executive, Stephen Chamberlain, of all charges related to the 2011 sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11.1 billion. Lynch, who faced up to 20 years imprisonment prior to acquittal, alleges he would not have survived in jail, given his medical history. However, former Chief Financial Officer Sushovan Hussain was convicted and sentenced to five years in prison for fraud. Now, Mike Lynch calls for a change in the United Kingdom’s extradition law and intends to establish a British version of Innocence Project. In 2022, a high court judge in the UK ruled against Lynch in a civil case after six long years, but he plans to appeal the ruling. Despite the ruling, Lynch remains committed to carving a way forward in the tech industry and continues to champion the revolution of business through technology.
