“After more than a year of works, the Moor Market in Kirkby, managed by Ashfield District Council, proudly introduces its new Banking Hub. This significant addition is destined to enhance banking services in Kirkby in Ashfield, marking a milestone in the community’s financial accessibility. As part of a national initiative, 66 new hubs are being established across the UK, with the aim of revitalizing banking services in various communities.
Operated by Cash Access UK, the new Banking Hub, situated on the Lowmoor Road pedestrianised section of the High Street near Moor Market Café, offers customers the convenience of depositing and withdrawing money, receiving face-to-face support, and conducting regular banking transactions. Moreover, the hub includes a private room for personalized discussions, ensuring a tailored banking experience.
The establishment of the Banking Hub follows the closure of three bank branches in the town over recent years, highlighting the urgent need for accessible banking services in the area. Cllr Matthew Relf, Executive Lead for Regeneration and Planning, expressed his excitement, stating that the hub will significantly improve the lives of residents and businesses by providing essential banking services right in Kirkby. Ward councillor Cllr Andy Meakin echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of the hub in the town’s regeneration efforts.”
