The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership has launched its new Manufacturing Facility Support Programme to boost investments in UK manufacturing and foster the growth of the offshore wind sector. With £2m available for UK businesses seeking to construct new manufacturing facilities or expand existing ones, the Stage 1 application window is open until Friday 20th September 2024.
Moreover, the Partnership aims to enhance UK offshore wind manufacturing capability and capacity by providing matched funding of up to £500,000 through a two-stage application process. Iain Sinclair, Executive Director at Global Energy Group and Non-Executive Director for OWGP, emphasized the importance of supporting UK-based manufacturing companies in developing production capacity to accelerate the deployment of offshore wind in the UK.
Furthermore, funding will be awarded on a competitive basis in the form of a grant. Successful proposals will demonstrate a comprehensive business plan covering investment plans, forecast market share, revenue, profitability, employment, and exports.
