Gendo, an AI platform aimed at architects and designers, has secured £855,000 in pre-seed funding from Concept Ventures, Ascension Ventures, Baobab Ventures and a range of AI and architecture angels. The platform, which is currently being used in beta by firms including David Chipperfield Architects, KPF, Zaha Hadid Architects and Benoy, uses generative AI models and machine learning techniques to enable architects to render detailed, realistic visualisations in seconds. Through the platform, architects can also receive recommendations and can edit sections of their designs. The funding will enable Gendo to expand partnerships with industry further and enhance the value of its tools.
“In our industry, detail and precision is everything. Gendo has been designed specifically for these professionals; we’ve built an AI platform that speeds up design work and allows creativity to flourish,” said George Proud, Gendo’s co-founder. “We’re eliminating the burdensome processes currently involved in visualisations and instead making it an efficient, instinctive and empowering experience.” Oliver Kicks, partner at Concept Ventures, called the team “great” and said he couldn’t wait to see what they build next.
