Paul Bristowe has assumed the role of Chief of Staff at Associated British Ports, a prominent ports operator in the UK. Previously serving as Head of Marine for ABP’s Humber region, Paul brings with him extensive leadership experience, acquired during his time at BP and a distinguished 25-year career in the Royal Navy.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Paul stated, “I’m excited to take up the Chief of Staff position and leverage the wealth of expertise within ABP. Leading this diverse portfolio presents an opportunity to consolidate our knowledge, prioritize key areas, and promote the exchange of best practices across functions.”
Highlighting the crucial importance of safety within the Chief of Staff role, Paul emphasized his commitment to further enhancing ABP’s safety protocols, building upon the progress already achieved. The role has been established to merge essential enabling functions, including marine operations, safety, environment, and security, which lay the groundwork for ABP’s growth trajectory.
Recognizing the specialized nature of these capabilities, the Chief of Staff will have a seat on ABP’s Executive Board, directly reporting to the CEO, Henrik L. Pedersen. Under Pedersen’s leadership, ABP aims to expand its impact within the UK through its missions of Keeping Britain Trading and Enabling the Energy Transition, emphasizing the need for safe, secure, and sustainable operations.
