Preston-based Turner Accountants has officially merged with Lincolnshire’s Streets Chartered Accountants, resulting in the creation of Streets Turner Chartered Accountants. This strategic move marks one of over seven successful mergers completed by Streets Chartered Accountants in the past 18 months. The practice has experienced substantial growth and now operates from more than 27 offices, with a fee income exceeding £35 million.

Mike Turner, Managing Director at Turner Accountants, expressed his enthusiasm for the merger, stating “I am delighted and excited about the merger.” Turner Accountants, established in 1996, has expanded steadily over the years based on its strong reputation and client demand within the Preston area. Turner emphasized the importance of evolving the business to meet the challenges faced by both the firm and its clients. After careful consideration, Streets was identified as the ideal partner due to shared values and client-centric focus.

With the merger complete, Turner Accountants now operates under the larger Streets umbrella, ensuring enhanced continuity of service for clients and improved career prospects for the team. This collaboration also enables the combined firm to offer an extensive range of services, including specialized corporate and private client tax planning, banking and finance solutions, international advice, personal financial planning, and a virtual finance office. Additionally, the merger allows Turner Accountants to undertake statutory audits for larger clients, further expanding its service capabilities in Preston.

Paul Tutin, Managing Partner at Streets Chartered Accountants, highlighted the firm’s strategic vision to establish a nationwide presence through mergers and acquisitions. The addition of Turner Accountants in Preston aligns with this growth strategy and reinforces Streets’ commitment to delivering top-notch accountancy, business, and tax advisory services across Lancashire and the North West region. Looking ahead, Streets anticipates achieving a target revenue of £40 million by the end of the year through additional mergers and acquisitions.

Streets Law, the corporate and commercial law arm of Streets Chartered Accountants, played a pivotal role in facilitating the merger process. Led by Managing Director and Solicitor, Adam Aisthorpe, Streets Law oversaw the legal aspects of the merger, including drafting the sale and purchase agreement and conducting due diligence in collaboration with internal tax and audit teams. This comprehensive approach underscores Streets’ dedication to ensuring a seamless transition and continued success for all parties involved.
