Manchester-based talent marketplace Hiring Hub has named Mark Rothwell as its new CEO, succeeding Ollie Beaton who had been interim CEO since May when Ashley Sellar left the company. Founded in 2011 by Simon Swan, Hiring Hub connects businesses with recruiters to find the best candidates and received funding from MonacoSol at the end of 2022 to increase its sales and customer operations in the UK and abroad. Swan stepped down as CEO a year ago to work on more strategic matters.

Rothwell, who previously worked at Pareto Law for 16 years, expressed his excitement about his new position: “I have previously been both a hiring manager and a recruiter so I understand the problem we solve from both sides and look forward to meeting with as many of our employers and recruitment partners as soon as possible.” Hiring Hub attracted MonacoSol’s investment, which represented the second investment in recruitment after Furza, a graduate sales recruitment and training business also based in Manchester.

In 2023, the PE-backed hiring marketplace announced it had expanded into Germany thanks to Henkel’s appointment; the German-based consumer goods company hired Hiring Hub’s Portal product to consolidate its third-party recruitment activity and ensure compliance, supplier performance tracking, and payment routing through a single vendor and platform. The three-year deal for Hiring Hub’s enterprise product, Portal, allowed the cloud-based recruitment platform provider to establish a foothold in Germany.
