BRUSH Group, an energy engineering solutions provider, has recently unveiled a state-of-the-art transformer test cell facility at its manufacturing site in Loughborough. This multi-million-pound facility, situated in a former workshop at the Falcon Works, marks a significant step forward for the company.

During the official opening ceremony, key customers and BRUSH employees gathered to witness the inauguration of the test cell, which boasts a high-voltage acoustic test area equipped with 12-meter-high doors. This new testing facility enables BRUSH to perform a wide range of tests on newly constructed power transformers before they are dispatched to customers.

With dedicated storage space for up to four of BRUSH’s largest transformer units, the facility enhances the company’s production capacity. This expansion is vital in meeting the growing demand for power transformers in the UK, particularly as the nation accelerates its efforts towards decarbonization.

Nicolas Pitrat, CEO of BRUSH Group, emphasized the significance of the new test cell in meeting the surging demand for power transformers across various sectors in the UK. He expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments and highlighted the contribution of new engineering apprentices who have joined the company to support its growth and operate the new test cell.

In conclusion, the establishment of this world-class test cell underscores BRUSH’s commitment to staying ahead of market demands and enabling energy producers and consumers to connect to the grid efficiently as the nation progresses towards net zero emissions.
