The Yorkshire Garden Centres group, based in Bradford, has recently appointed new managers to oversee the operations of two newly-acquired sites in North Yorkshire. Following the retirement of Richard, Helen, and Sarah Dean, Yorkshire Garden Centres acquired Dean’s of York and Scarborough earlier this year. This change, along with the retirement of Jim Cockerton from the Scarborough center, created vacancies for managerial positions at the two sites.
Mike Waugh, an experienced garden center manager, has been selected as the center manager at York, while Adam Bailey, who has been with the Scarborough site for 21 years, has been promoted to manage the Scarborough location. Mr. Waugh, previously from California Lodge and Ellerker Lodge garden centers in East Yorkshire, expressed his excitement about joining a company with great ambition and drive. Mr. Bailey is eager to utilize his knowledge of the center and team to enhance the business.
Both managers will be tasked with leading their teams, implementing necessary improvements, and maintaining high standards across the centers to ensure exceptional customer experiences. Neil Barwise-Carr, Head of People and Culture at Yorkshire Garden Centres, stated, “We’re pleased to welcome Mike to our team and congratulate Adam on his promotion. We look forward to their contributions and benefiting from their extensive experience.”
