Henry Brothers had the honor of hosting Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby at their ongoing project at Pilot House. As construction progresses on the redevelopment of this historic site in Leicester city centre, the project is set to play a vital role in bolstering the cultural and economic vibrancy of the city.
During his visit, the City Mayor toured the site, meeting with members of the Henry Brothers team and observing the progress of the work. Ian Taylor, Managing Director at Henry Brothers Construction, expressed pride in the company’s involvement in such a significant project for Leicester.
“Our mission at Henry Brothers is to consistently deliver exceptional construction solutions,” said Taylor. “Our work at Pilot House embodies this ethos by honoring the building’s heritage while providing modern facilities that cater to the community’s needs.”
The redevelopment of Pilot House will introduce modern workspaces and a central business community hub, complete with a café, exhibition and event space, reception area, and outdoor working space. The scheme aims to provide a permanent home for creative and design businesses of all sizes in the city.
Funded by the Government’s Levelling Up Fund and the city council, the project is a key component of Leicester’s ongoing development. City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby praised the transformation of Pilot House into a crucial creative hub for Leicester, expected to generate hundreds of high-quality jobs.
“Preserving the heritage features of the buildings while creating a functional modern space, our contractors at Henry Brothers have done a commendable job in bringing this vision to life,” said Sir Peter Soulsby. “I eagerly anticipate the project’s completion and witnessing the positive impact it will have on our city.”
Upon completion in summer 2025, the transformed buildings will offer 60,000 sq ft of top-notch accommodation for start-up and growing businesses, fostering over 250 new job opportunities. Tenants can look forward to access to meeting and conference facilities, a café, courtyard, and a variety of workspaces, including a co-working lounge tailored for creative tech and digital businesses.
