Van Elle, the ground engineering contractor, has secured a significant project from Keepmoat at the former Boots site in Nottingham. Valued at up to £3m and spanning multiple phases, this is the largest single project awarded to its Housing division in the past year.
This marks Van Elle’s 15th project with Keepmoat over the last three years. The collaboration sets the stage for a new strategic partnership between Van Elle and M&J Evans, a groundworker in the housing sector with a national reach. By working closely on a customer-centric approach, the two companies aim to provide a more streamlined and efficient delivery model for housebuilders.
In a recent development, Van Elle has completed an expansion project at its precast pile factory in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. This expanded facility, equipped for 24-hour manufacturing and utilizing low carbon concrete mixes, is set alongside the Smartfoot precast beam factory. The investment has boosted production capacity by over 30%, positioning the company favorably to meet the expected rise in housing sector demand.
CEO Mark Cutler expressed optimism about the government’s commitment to accelerating newbuild housing delivery. He highlighted the company’s readiness to support increased demand with its expanded capacity and expertise, including the innovative Smartfoot foundation solution. Despite current subdued housebuilding volumes, Housing orders for the year have risen by 20% year-on-year. Van Elle looks forward to playing a pivotal role alongside esteemed clients with whom they enjoy strong repeat business relationships.”
