Wavensmere Homes is actively pursuing brownfield development opportunities exceeding three acres in city centers and towns throughout the Midlands. Currently overseeing 3,500 plots in production or planning, the company is poised to ramp up construction to deliver 1,000 new homes annually with the goal of doubling turnover to approximately £250m.

Established in 2015, the privately-owned housebuilder successfully delivered 522 homes in 2023 and is on track to achieve a turnover of £115m in 2024. With construction set to begin on five new developments this year, valued at close to £350m, James Dickens, Managing Director of Wavensmere Homes, emphasized the importance of acquiring more development land to sustain their growth.

Focusing on the East and West Midlands, where the executive and management teams are based, the company aims to accelerate regeneration in well-connected areas such as Smethwick, Walsall, Dudley, Leicester, Nottingham, and Derby. With expertise in developing complex, historically significant properties, Wavensmere Homes is seeking new opportunities from landowners and agents.

The firm is currently engaged in the £106m Belgrave Village project in Birmingham and the £130m Barrelman’s Point development in Suffolk. Known for its award-winning Nightingale Quarter in Derby, with plans for the redevelopment of sites like Friar Gate Goods Yard and Full Street in the Cathedral Quarter, Wavensmere Homes continues to make significant strides in residential development.

Recent approvals from local authorities for projects like the Milford Mills redevelopment and the upcoming Friar Gate Goods Yard scheme showcase the company’s commitment to revitalizing key areas. As plans for new developments in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter are underway, Wavensmere Homes remains dedicated to creating high-quality housing solutions in line with their established track record.
