London is home to one of the largest concentrations of co-working spaces globally. However, with over 1,500 options, where do you begin?

Mortimer House

Location: 37-41 Mortimer Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 3JH

Features: Mortimer House promises more in the way of luxury rather than fun. Members have access to the Mortimer House loft and gallery, living room, den and meeting rooms as well as a yoga and reformers pilates studio, gym and in-house events.

Mortimer House’s features emphasize luxury above entertainment. Members receive access to the Mortimer House loft and gallery, as well as a yoga and reformer pilates class, a gym, and in-house events.

Price:

£80 per month for the club (includes VAT). The club is for people who want to network just for the sake of networking. Invite three friends to the living room and den for DJs, presentations, seminars, live music, and monthly events with cultural icons.

£250 per month for a traveler (excludes VAT). Traveler provides access to all common floors, conference spaces, fitness centers, and events on weekends and eight weekdays per month.

The monthly rent for a resident is £500. (excludes VAT). Resident members get unlimited access to public floors, meeting rooms, and events throughout the week, as well as ‘unrestricted’ access to all working lounges.

The monthly rent (Bureau) starts at £1,000 per month. Every day of the week, you’ll get access to a dedicated single-serving desk and unrestricted access to the public floors, meeting rooms, gym, and events.

From £6,000 per month for home (study). The study option provides you with a specialized team office (up to 26 people) that has access to the shared floors, gym, and activities on any given day of the week.

All memberships need a £250 joining fee.

Makerversity

Location: Somerset House, Victoria Embankment, London, WC2R 1LA

Makerversity, located in the basement of Somerset House, is a functional area for creating adjoining co-working spaces. It is an excellent fit for designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, technologists, innovators, artisans, technicians, and artists.

Makerversity is a very social community, with weekly member breakfasts, talks, skill-sharing sessions, events, and regular community socials. Additionally, it offers complimentary meeting rooms, complimentary tea and coffee, and a central London postal address.

The majority of its attractiveness stems from its functional workplace. The wood workshop, digital workshop, textile workshop, engineering workshop, sound studio, and assembly room all include various tools.

Price:

Memberships are available full-time, starting at £390 per month. This will provide you with a permanent workplace area accessible 24 hours a day.

Memberships with roaming privileges start at £240 per month. Includes up to 60 hours of hot desk space each month.

Membership for those under the age of 25 is free for three months. Individuals under the age of 25 have 24-hour access to hot desk space. Nine months of membership are available at a 50% discount following the complimentary time. You’ll get the opportunity to present to Makerversity’s member firms and wider network, as well as be mentored by a more senior member.

Makers with a Purpose: Six months free. The plan includes access to hot desk space 24 hours a day. To be eligible for this program, you must be working on an ethical, social, or sustainable initiative. Submit your application on the Makerversity website.

Every membership level includes unlimited access to all tools and equipment.

The Coalface

Location: 46 Clifton Terrace, Finsbury Park, London, N4 3JP

The Coalface, located at a convenient north London location, provides complimentary barista coffee, herbal tea, flavored water, breakfast, and vintage sweets. Additionally, it has postal services, phone booths and is pet-friendly.

You have AV technology in conference rooms to enliven your presentations. The conference rooms themselves have a capacity of four to fourteen persons.

Price:

Monthly memberships start at £225 + VAT.

Private offices start at £375 + VAT per month per desk.

Fixed workstations are available starting at £325 + VAT per month.

Meeting rooms are available for hire at a rate of £30 + VAT per hour.

Fora

Location: 35-41 Folgate Street, E1 6BX

Fora have a ten-strong network, with the majority of locations in London: Brick Lane, Old Street, Clerkenwell, Fitzrovia, Soho, Shoreditch (Great Eastern Street), Borough, Southwark, and a Reading location.

Along with frequent seminars, get-togethers, and monthly cocktails, the earthy office provides complimentary tea, coffee, snacks, and breakfast. Fitness enthusiasts may practice yoga, attend HIIT sessions, or get personal training – all of which are subsidized. Spend time in the health studio, residents’ garden and roof terrace, or the Spitalfields Conservatory for some quiet.

Price:

Open desk: £375 per month per desk (network-wide pricing of £450 per desk). Deskspace in a co-working space is guaranteed access to all amenities.

Owned desk: £575 per month for each desk. You’ll get your workstation and chair, as well as secure storage. Includes network-wide access to Fora facilities.

Owned office: starting at £775 per month per desk. The fundamentals are covered for organizations with two or more employees, and you may scale up as needed.

LABS

Location: 1 Water Ln, Camden Town, London NW1 8NZ

Hawley Wharf is the newest addition to the LAB’s property, three in Camden and five in the Holborn region.

It is home to LABS Incubator, which provides emerging firms the tools and space to thrive. Entrepreneurs and enterprises with less than 15 employees that have been in operation for less than three years are eligible to join.

LABS at Hawley Wharf offers complimentary tea and coffee, welcomes dogs, and rents out an event space.

All LABS spaces are priced on a three-tiered scale.

Starting at £199 + VAT per month for roaming

Private: Rates are negotiable.

Enterprise: Upon request, a quote will be provided.

On request, quotes for event rooms are also available.
