Scarborough-based JM Glendinning North Yorkshire, a part of the JMG Group, has successfully completed the acquisition of the well-established commercial and personal lines insurance broker C P Bennet Ltd. This strategic move marks the second acquisition by JM Glendinning North Yorkshire, led by MD Alison Piercy, shortly after relocating to larger premises to accommodate future growth. C P Bennet Ltd’s MD, Simon Benson, will transition to JM Glendinning’s office in Wykeham, Scarborough.
Founded in 1929 by Charles Percy Bennet, C P Bennet Ltd is a respected Bridlington-based insurance broker. Simon Benson, who has been with the company since 1986, has played a pivotal role in its development, working alongside his father, Albert Benson. Alison Piercy, MD of JM Glendinning North Yorkshire, expressed her confidence in the compatibility of the two companies’ operational and cultural values, and their shared commitment to customer satisfaction. She believes that the acquisition of C P Bennet is a strategic move that aligns with the goals and principles of JM Glendinning.
